In 1952, the Tainan City Literature Society listed this place as one of Tainan's twelve beautiful sceneries, titled "Yantan Xiao Yue". In the early days, Yantan was one of the important landscapes and water sources outside the capital city. Yantan has two pavilions: "Yuejian Pavilion" and "Nianci Pavilion". Yuejian Pavilion was built during the Japanese occupation. It was first built as a Japanese-style architecture with a thatched roof but has now been converted into a cement ship-shaped building. "Nianci Pavilion" was built in 1990 by Wu Xiuqi, the founder of President Enterprise, who donated money to build a Chinese-style palace pavilion in Yantan, and built a curved bridge in the east-west direction of the pavilion to connect both ends of Yantan, and named this pavilion "Nianci Pavilion" in honor of his mother.
